작품해설

Shadow Land라는 영화를 보고 받은 느낌을 오중주에 담아 보았다. “고통이 행복의 한 부분”이라는 영화의 메시지처럼, 음악의 무조성과 조성도 함께 할 때 더 큰 의미를 찾을 수 있으리라 생각한다. 무인도처럼 홀로 떠 있는 현대음악이 연주자나 청중에게 교감을 줄 수 있다면 더 이상 기쁜 일이 없겠다.

작품해설(영문)

Shadow Land is inspired by the movie with the same title. Atonality is integrated into tonality just like pain is part of happiness in the story of the movie. The integration of tonality and atonality, rationality and sensibility has made it possible to interweave the artistic emotions between musicians and the audience. It will be a great pleasure if contemporary music does not float in a desert island any more.
