기승전결의 전통적 발전방식보다는 유기적 관계에 있는 각 단편을 사전에 배열해 전개시켰다. 두 가지 음고적 재료(지속음 ‘A’와 ‘A’음을 포함한 주위의 세 개의 음 G#, A, F#으로 구성된 짧은 선율적 동기)를 근간으로 해서, 지속음의 관현악적 색채변화와 선율적 동기가 매번 어떻게 나타나는가가 이 작품의 주된 내용을 이룬다. 이런 작곡적 재료들에 나의 상상에서 나온, 그림자에 대한 연상을 연결시켜 작곡했다.
“빛이 생기면서 동시에 그림자가 생겨난다. 빛이 강해지면서 그림자의 윤곽은 더 뚜렷해지고 자유스러워진다. 서로 얽기도 설켜서 마치 춤을 추듯 그림자의 움직임은 더욱 강렬해진다. 같은 모양으로, 때론 다른 모습을 보이기도 한다. 느닷없이 빛이 사라지며 꿈틀대던 그림자들은 빛과 함께 증발해버린다.”

Relationship with each segment than conventional developed methods of a well-organized passage is preliminary arranged and deployed. Based on materials of two elements (organizing a short melodic subject with component of three pitches with G#, A, F#), a continuant sound’s orchestral color change and the melodic subject are the main theme of this piece how it presents and produces sound during proceeding with music. Each compositional material is connected with reminiscent about shadow beyond my imagination to compose this piece.
“Light occurs, and then shadow follows. The light grows powerfully and contours of the shadow shows clear distinction freely. They become quite complicated like dancing and the movement of shadow is intense. They look same and different in shape over again. Unexpectedly, the light disappears and the wriggling shadows are evaporated with the light.”
