작품해설

작곡자가 서울대학교 음악대학 재학 당시에 쓴 초기 작품으로 절친한 친구이며 작곡가인 송해섭의 죽음으로 인해 작곡되었다. 5음음계가 드러나는 주제와 전통어법에 대한 학습의 결과를 담고 있는 7개의 변주로 구성되었다. 변주는 각각 다음과 같은 소제목을 갖고 있다.

1. Mozartiana 2. Wiegenlied 3. Moll 4. Nocturn 5.Scherzo 6. Ode Brahms 7. Choral

작품해설(영문)

This early piece was composed while he was a college student, when his friend Song, Hae-sup who was also a composer died. It is consisted of theme and 7 variations that show his study of the traditional music and the pentatonic scale. Each variation has title respectfully such as Mzartiana., Crodle Song, Moll, Nocturn, Scherzo, Ode Brahms and Choral.
