Experience three of the most complex analog animation techniques ever captured on film. A crazy mix of abstractions that dazzle the eyes. Transitions are abound and bring you through hundreds of emotions flowing smoothly from showering colors to spiraling abstractions to rippling designs.
You won't believe this was all shot on film. Created as a reflection upon an intense research period into Korean culture and East Asian philosophy.
The Korean Trilogy consists of Lung, Feng Huang and Stone Lion. Work on the three animations stated in 1984, after Robert Darroll returened to Europe from Korea, where he had been studying Asian Philosophy at the Song Kwang Sa. Obviously the works were strongly influenced by ideas, motifs and experiences relating to Korean culture.
